NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 10 – Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo are among high-ranking officials who have joined Kenyans in mourning gospel artist Betty Bayo.
Bayo passed away on November 10 while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.
Gachagua said Bayo’s demise was a heartbreaking and devastating loss to her family, the nation, and the creative industry.
The DCP leader added that she will be remembered for her selfless initiatives, which had a far-reaching impact.
“Her remarkable talent and contribution through beautifully crafted lyrics and charity work touched many souls and transformed lives,” he said.
“My heart goes out to her family during this difficult time; please accept my deepest condolences. May the Almighty God grant you strength in this challenging moment, and may Betty Bayo’s soul rest in eternal peace,” Gachagua stated in his tribute.
ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo also paid glowing tribute to the fallen vernacular gospel singer, saying she had touched many lives through her music ministry.
“My heart is heavy as I learn of the passing of our dear gospel sister Betty Bayo. Her voice, her ministry, and her deep love for God touched countless lives, including mine,” he said.
Multiple gospel award winner Daddy Owen said Bayo had dedicated her life and career to advancing the gospel through her music.
“RIP to one of our own, Betty Bayo. A true vessel of God whose voice and ministry touched countless lives. Her passion for the Gospel will never be forgotten,” his statement read.
Daddy Owen went on to convey his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
