NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 14 – The price of diesel has fallen by Sh5 per litre in the latest monthly review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
The reduction means a litre of diesel will retail at Sh217.86 in Nairobi from midnight, while super petrol and kerosene prices will remain unchanged at Sh214.03 and Sh191.38, respectively, for the next month.
EPRA said it used Sh938 million from the government’s fuel stabilisation fund to lower the diesel price while maintaining the prices of petrol and kerosene.
The move comes despite a rise in the landed cost of imported super petrol, which increased by 6.99 percent from $836.92 per cubic metre in June to $948.92 in July 2026.
The landed cost of diesel, however, fell by 13.08 percent from $984.37 to $855.59 per cubic metre over the same period.
Kerosene’s landed cost also declined by 11.01 percent from $1,028.17 to $915.01 per cubic metre.
EPRA said the changes in fuel prices were supported by the government’s stabilisation programme.
