NAIROBI, Kenya Aug 23 – Police investigations into the death of an 84-year-old woman in Trans Nzoia County have taken a new turn after detectives linked the main suspect to another alleged killing.

The 18-year-old was arrested in Kiminini after allegedly attacking the victim, who later died while receiving treatment at Cheranganyi Nursing Home.

Detectives said the suspect had gone into hiding following the attack, leading to a manhunt that eventually resulted in his arrest.

Witnesses later positively identified him during an identification parade.

Further investigations have now established a possible link between the suspect and the killing of an 86-year-old woman in Tongaren, Bungoma County.

Police are also investigating allegations that the Trans Nzoia victim was sexually assaulted before she died.

Forensic analysis and other investigative procedures are underway as detectives seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the two incidents.
