NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 14 – Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo has been axed as the Minority Whip in new changes announced by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party that sort to punish renegade lawmakers.
Leader Raila Odinga announced that Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina will now take over from her as the Minority Whip and will be deputized by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
Dullo faced the wrath of the Odinga-led coalition following her recent dalliance with President William Ruto’s administration following a visit to State House Nairobi alongside 30 other Jubilee lawmakers.
“We have asked our team to continue representing Azimio effectively in the house. Azimio stands for the defense and interest of the people in the house,” Odinga said.
The Coalition has however retained Mombasa Senator Stewart Madzayo as the Minority Leader and Kitui Senator Enock Wambua as the Deputy Minority Leader.
Dullo is the first lawmaker to face the wrath of the coalition following the resolution made by Azimio La Umoja One Kenya parliamentary group meeting last week.
Meanwhile, Odinga insisted that the ongoing Azimio movements to push for change will continue reiterating that the August 9 elections were rigged in favor of President Ruto.
“It doesn’t matter how many times you shout or you pray the prayer is not going to help him get away with election theft. Kenyans must defend electoral justice,” he said.
