NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 26 – The 3rd edition of the Bad Shot Good Shot Golf Tournament delivered another unforgettable day at Royal Nairobi Golf Club, bringing together more than 150 golfers and 15 corporate partners for a unique celebration of golf, inclusion, networking and lifestyle.
The tournament, themed “Cigars & Champagne,” lived up to its promise, combining competitive golf with a premium experience both on and off the course.
But Bad Shot Good Shot is more than just another golf tournament.
It is Kenya’s inclusive golf experience, built around a simple idea: celebrate the good shots and the bad shots. Whether you return an impressive score or have a round you would rather forget, there is a category for you.
The tournament also creates an opportunity for differently abled golfers to compete alongside other golfers, promoting inclusion and ensuring that competitive golf is accessible to more players. At Bad Shot Good Shot, every golfer has a place on the course—and every shot counts.Proudly sponsored by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., the tournament gave golfers a taste of what Barbados has to offer—not just as a holiday destination, but as a world-class golf destination. The Barbados Tourism Marketing team highlighted that Kenyans can travel to Barbados visa-free and showcased the island’s impressive golf offering, including more than seven PGA-rated courses.
The tournament also brought together a strong line-up of partners offering golfers everything from financial solutions to lifestyle experiences.
HF Markets engaged golfers on forex trading and financial markets, while Consolidated Bank showcased its insurance and banking solutions. Kenya Airways reminded golfers why it remains the airline of choice for golfers and travellers across Kenya and beyond.
Samsung, through Jaicom, brought the excitement as the Hole-in-One sponsor, while Sandstorm Kenya rewarded winners with its signature bespoke leather products.
The experience continued with Aquamist, Bundaberg Ginger Beer, Sunveat, Farmers Choice, Kiuna’s Kona, The Edit, The Glitch, Melvin Teas, Wine with Nimo and Yen Virtual Club, each adding its own flavour to the day—from breakfast and refreshments to fashion, technology, champagne and cigars.
And then came the scores.James Mathenge emerged as the overall winner, returning an impressive 44 Stableford points in the Good Shot Award, sponsored by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.
In the Bad Shot Award, sponsored by Sandstorm Kenya, Rose Tinderet took the honours with 13 points.Pauline Mukiri claimed the HF Markets Lady Winner Award, while Jeremy Lenana of Consolidated Bank took the Sponsor Winner category with an impressive 40 points.
For founder and director Patrick Githinji, the tournament was ultimately about bringing people together.He thanked the golfers, Royal Nairobi Golf Club, sponsors and partners for making the third edition such a memorable experience.
