Michael Jackson’s iconic Thriller album is predicted to top the Billboard 200, more than four decades after its release. The album routinely experiences dramatic chart resurgences around early November each year, driven by the massive annual spike in streaming and sales of its iconic title track during Halloween season.
Following Halloween activity, the track “Thriller” routinely leads streaming platforms worldwide, sending the parent album back up the Billboard 200. Just days after Halloween and more than more decades after its historic chart run, the blockbuster is predicted to earn 52K units this week, fueled by Halloween listening and new vinyl editions.

Thriller holds the record for the most non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a solo album, having spent 37 weeks at the top spot between 1983 and 1984. Should the album top the chart, it would grant Jackson a record victory of 38 weeks at No. 1 and its return to the summit since 1984.
The album saw a massive surge earlier this year following momentum from Lionsgate’s Michael biopic and anniversary re-issues, pushing it back into the Top 5 and Top 10.
