The recently concluded 60th Jamhuri Day Celebrations held at the Uhuru Gardens saw a host of Kenyans awarded state commendations.
Among the individuals awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) award by President William Ruto include popular entertainers like ‘Disconnect’ actress Catherine Kamau aka Kate Actress, comedienne Jacky Vike also known as Awinja, filmmaker Abel Mutua as well as comedians Timothy Kimani aka Njugush and Eddie Butita.
Kate took to social media to share the news writting, “Catherine Kamau OGW (Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya) Head of State Commendation from his Excellency the President Dr William Samoei Ruto. Won’t he do it!”
The Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya is an award presented to individuals in recognition of an outstanding service rendered to the country.
Record breaking athlete Faith Kipyegon on the other hand received the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya award.
