NAIROBI, Kenya, June 24, 2026 – Esports Kenya Federation will hold national trials for this year’s Global Esports Games at the HIT Lab in Nairobi on July 18-19.

In a statement, competitions director Timothy Kiarie said they will select a strong team for the global showpiece, applying the values of professionalism and integrity.

“The Global Esports Games are the pinnacle of our esports calendar, and we assure all participants that the highest standards of professionalism and integrity shall be applied in the selection. We also urge players to secure crucial documentation like passports and parental consent (for minors) in time so that their chances of representing the nation are not affected by off-the-pitch challenges,” Kiarie said.

A total of 26 slots will be up for grabs as players compete across seven different titles: eFootball™, Rocket League, NBA2K, Clash Royale, MLBB, iRacing, and Counter Strike 2.

Three of the seven titles will feature dedicated women’s categories alongside the open categories: eFootball™ (1v1), Clash Royale (1v1), and MLBB (5v5), while the rest of the titles shall have open categories only.

Registration for the national trials begin June 23-July 15, with only players aged at least 16 years eligible for participation.

The Global Esports Games is set for December 3-10 this year, in Los Angeles.

It is the premier international multi-title esports competition organized by the Global Esports Federation, bringing together 180 member federations.
