Bado Tupo! DJ Mo Surprises Wife Size 8 With A Billboard On Her 38th Birthday

Kenyan gospel artist Linet Munyali, popularly known as Size 8 Reborn, marked her 38th birthday yesterday on August 4, 2025.

Her husband, Samuel “DJ Mo” Muraya, surprised her with a heartfelt birthday message displayed on a public billboard along Thika Road near Blue Springs Hotel in Nairobi. The billboard read: “Fights, fumbles and prayer later, bado tupo.”

The phrase, loosely translated to “we’re still here,” reflected the couple’s tumultuous journey through challenges in their marriage and their eventual reconciliation. DJ Mo further honored his wife with a touching tribute on social media saying, “Today we celebrate you, your strength, your beauty, your heart and everything you are to us.”

The ‘Mateke’ singer also took to social media to reflect on her birthday, saying that her birthday the previous year had been one of chaos, pain, and brokenness. She recalled that her marriage had collapsed, her family was in disarray, and her heart was deeply wounded. However, one year later, she stood in gratitude, testifying to God’s mercy, grace, and love. She encouraged others going through similar struggles not to lose hope.

As reported by The Sauce in August 2024, Size 8 and DJ Mo had faced significant marital challenges that led to a public separation after 11 years of marriage. During the separation, Size 8 revealed she was single and cited emotional distress and rumors of infidelity as factors that contributed to their split. In a candid video posted in late 2024, she said she had “no other option” at the time but to walk away.
