Artesano eyes diplomats with Sh593.4mn hotel in Gigiri

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 9 – Property developer Artesano plans to construct a Sh593.4 million hotel in Gigiri, Nairobi, targeting diplomats, business travellers and other Kenyans seeking accommodation in the area.

The proposed 11-storey hotel will have 152 accommodation units comprising 48 one-bedroom apartment suites, 24 two-bedroom apartment suites, 32 deluxe guest rooms and 48 standard guest rooms.

The development will also include 54 parking bays, a swimming pool, gymnasium, bar, restaurant and meeting rooms, alongside the utilities and infrastructure required to support the hotel’s operations.

“The development will further provide a total of fifty-four (54) parking bays, recreational facilities including a swimming pool and gymnasium, hospitality facilities comprising a bar, restaurant and meeting rooms, as well as all associated utilities and infrastructure required to support the efficient operation of the proposed hotel development,” the firm said in its proposed plan.

Gigiri, which hosts several diplomatic missions and upscale residential developments, has attracted increased interest from property developers as demand for accommodation and housing in the area grows.

In August, Kenyan entrepreneur Mohamed Bishar broke ground on the construction of the Sh2 billion Silva Gigiri & Residence, a development combining luxury residential units.

Centum is also developing residential apartments within its Two Rivers development, further expanding housing options in the area.
