NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 14 – Four trucks were over the weekend impounded by the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) for trying to smuggle avocados to Tanzania.
Officials from the AFA, on a tip-off, laid ambush on the individuals at the Namanga Border post in Kajiado County.
The trucks are now being held at the Namanga Border Post, and the drivers will be arraigned in court for contravening the provisions of the Crops Act 2013 and Crops (Horticulture) Regulations 2020.
